Tim Waples came to Charlotte Country Day School in 1999, where he teaches English and TOK, coaches Junior Varsity basketball, and heads the Humanities 11-12 Department. He earned a PhD in English from the University of Pennsylvania and taught at the college level before finding independent school life to be more diverse and more humane, if also more chaotic. He enjoys tennis, golf, yoga, movies, and theatre (especially when he is doing all but one of them with his wife, Anne Lambert), and serves on the board of BareBones Theatre Group in Charlotte, NC.
